Invokana (canagliflozin) is an oral drug used to help regulate blood sugar levels in those with type 2 diabetes. Canagliflozin targets the kidneys and increases the amount of sugar removed. In combination with a healthy diet and exercise schedule, invokana helps to lower high blood sugar and thereby prevent kidney damage. Most importantly, canagliflozin can lower ones risk of a heart attack of stroke caused by Type 2 diabetes.
