Symbicort Turbuhaler contains both Budesonide and Formoterol to help relieve wheezing and shortness of breath brought on by cases of asthma, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), chronic bronchitis, and emphysema. Budesonide is a inhaled corticoseteroid that helps reduce swelling and irritation in the airway. Formoterol is a long-acting beta agonist that helps open the body's airs ways to help you breath easy.

Before using Symbicort Turbuhaler read the paper work and instructions given to you by your pharmacist. This medication is inhaled once or twice a day. Rinse your mouth out with water after using the Symbicort Turbuhaler to prevent infection in the mouth. Never swallow the rinse water. 

If you are prescribed more than one puff form the inhaler, allow at least one minute between inhalations. If you are using other inhalers at the same time as Symbicort Turbuhaler, then you should also allow at least a minute before using different inhalation medications. 

Symbicort Turbuhaler should be used regularly to ensure maximum effectiveness. This medication does not work right away and can take upwards to a week to feel the full effect. A back up inhaler should be used in case of a sudden attack.

Check with your doctor about current medications and other inhalers before knowing if Symbicort Turbuhaler is right for you. Mixing other long-acting beta agonist can increase the potential of side effects. 

There is a risk of developing problems with heart rhythm (QT prolongation). It is important that you do not dissemble the inhaler in order to clean it. All that is required to maintain the inhaler is to clean the mouthpiece one a week with a cloth to remove any reside build up.

Some side can include:

awareness of heartbeat or fast heartbeat, cough, dizziness, headache, hoarseness, irritation of the mouth or throat, muscle cramps, nausea, restlessness or nervousness, tremor, trouble sleeping
