Finacea Gel is a topical medication prescribed to treat rosacea (adult acne). Finacea Gel contains Azelaic Acid to help reduce inflamed skin lesions.

Finacea Gel can be applied after washing your hands and the effected areas with soap and water. Measure out a small amount and apply a thin layer of the medication to your skin, and wait at least 5 minutes before wearing any cosmetics. You should apply Finacea Gel once in the morning and again in the evening, or as directed by your doctor.

Avoid applying the medication near the eyes. Your eyes are sensitive to the medication and could tear up as a result. If eye contact occurs, rinse and flush thoroughly with cold water.

Finacea Gel may have ingredients that could induce an allergic reaction. Speak with your doctor regarding known allergies or sensitivities before using this medication. Additionally you should consult your doctor about prior medical conditions relating to blood disorders. Disclose any medications or supplements you are taking to ensure there are no interactions while taking Finacea Gel. 

Some common side effects can include: application site reactions (burning, stinging, tingling, dryness, tightness, scaling, itching, redness, irritation, swelling), acne, dizziness, headache, diarrhea, nausea, stomach pain, loss of appetite, constipation, changes in taste, furry tongue, and dry mouth.

More serious side effects can also include: severe application site reactions or changes in skin color.
