Asmanex Twisthaler contains Mometasone and can prescribed to prevent symptoms of asthma that include shortness of breathe or wheezing. Mometasone is known as a corticosteroid and is inhaled to reduce the irritation and swelling in the airways.

Take care to read all the paper work and instructions given to you by your pharmacist before using this medication. This medication is inhaled once or twice a day. Rinse your mouth out with water after using the Asmanex Twisthaler to prevent infection in the mouth. Never swallow the rinse water. 

If you are prescribed more than one puff form the inhaler, allow at least one minute between inhalations. If you are using other inhalers at the same time as Asmanex Twisthaler, then you should also allow at least a minute before using different inhalation medications.

Asmanex Twisthaler does not work right away and should not be used for quick relief if you experience a sudden attack. If you require the use of a back up inhaler for quick relief, take note of the frequency of attacks to help document your treatment. 

Asmanex Twisthaler may have ingredients that could induce an allergic reaction. Speak with your doctor regarding known allergies before using this medication. Additionally you should consult your doctor about prior medical conditions relating to tuberculosis, bone loss, eye problems, diabetes, or adrenal gland problems. Disclose any medications or supplements you are taking to ensure there are no interactions while using the Asmanex Twisthaler.

While using the Asmanex Twisthaler you body can prevent showing any signs of infection. Make sure to practice good hygiene by washing your hands to prevent the spread of infections or other diseases. Take care to avoid others with transmittable infections like the flu, measles or chickenpox.

Common side effects can include: headache, runny or stuffy nose, sore throat, upper respiratory tract infection, sinus infections, oral thrush, menstrual cramps, musculoskeletal pain, back pain, heartburn/indigestion, muscle pain, abdominal pain, and nausea.
